KINSHIP digital from the eyes of Lizette Green, our Chief Financial Officer

A little bit of background first

When KINSHIP was founded, businesses and governments were grappling with how social media could underpin customer and citizen engagement.

The term ‘kinship’ means the relationship between members of the same family. Moreover, different ethnic groups have distinct systems of kinship; a feeling of being close or similar to other people or things.

The company was launched with the key aspiration of supporting our clients to become closer to their customers and/or citizens through leveraging social and digital media. Or one can say creating kinship for our clients, employees, and business partners.

The work atmosphere

KINSHIP digital has inclusivity at the center of its values. Our family has traveled a lot over the years: from Africa to Asia, and finally to Oceania. We discovered and learned so much from various cultures, it made us realise that we truly desired our company to reflect this diversity.

We have absolutely valued working with people from different backgrounds and cultures from the beginning. It is a chance for us to interact and therefore acquire knowledge every day thanks to our team.

On the other hand, as a woman, it is fantastic to see women empowered and on their path to success. Giving everyone an opportunity to build a career no matter their age, gender, nationality, or background is a true gift and we intend to use it wisely.

Finally, we try our best to make work a pleasant time for each team member. Since COVID-19, we start and finish our days with a team meeting. The main goal is to make everyone connect and learn from each other while working remotely. It also allows the team to be aware of what everyone is working on and also the projects' progress. On the other hand, we are often planning team bonding activities such as grabbing a drink, climbing the Sydney Bridge, or playing pool. It is the nicest way to meet the new team members and catch up with the others!

KINSHIP being part of the family

KINSHIP is managed by the entire employee family, we see the company as our child we need to take good care of! This is what brings us closer within our family, thus, we are now deeply proud to witness the business grow every day and the kinship it creates.

Achieving the level of customer experience we were looking for and being able to build trustworthy relationships with customers were our goals. I believe this was made possible by the management style here at KINSHIP. We chose a flat structure, which allows our team members to share their ideas to improve the decision-making process in our projects.

We want to give our people a voice and make everyone’s opinion matter.
Ultimately, seeing Caitlin being the CEO of KINSHIP makes me immensely proud. She has developed numerous skills since her academic path; her single focus is to help customers with the right service at the right time. Caitlin has the ability to unveil emotions and comprehend what is best for people. I believe this capability is what makes her a remarkable leader and drives KINSHIP, our employees, and our clients towards success.

“After transitioning into the tech industry this year and experiencing first hand the tech lay-offs, Kinship offered my first opportunity to lead as a head of department in the field I’d previously worked in both as client and vendor. I am very thankful for the trust by KINSHIP leaders as I take my learnings from previous experiences and tailor an approach specifically suited to Kinship, whilst providing the opportunity to help new team members with their own growth.”

Kim James

“I am very appreciative to KINSHIP for giving me the opportunity to grow my skills and work with such a diverse team and client base. I have learnt some incredibly valuable skills such as communication, time management and quality of work. I am extremely grateful to the KINSHIP team for allowing me to be flexible with the location and hours I work from, as I travel around for sport and complete my uni degree at the same time.”

Katie Richardson

“Having taken a career switch from what I was studying at university, KINSHIP has allowed me to grow into a new space. I am very thankful to my colleagues who have continually supported me in this change and have helped me to grow both personally and professionally. Having worked with various clients and different implementation projects, I can say that I am glad I made the switch!”

Aakriti Subedi

“KINSHIP gave me my first job as a solutions consultant while still completing my studies at Uni. After working with some incredible people and awesome projects, I have developed my skills in business and now work as an Account Executive learning about other organisations and driving new business.”
